Many companies are turning to younger generations to help Baby Boomer employees get tech savvy. Time Warner launched a reverse mentoring program where college students help their Baby Boomer executives understand new technologies that can help the company. If you don't know how to Tweet or post a video to YouTube, look to your younger colleagues. Gen Y was raised on the Internet. Ask a younger colleague, maybe even a recent college grad, to mentor you on Web 2.0 and emerging technologies. Have them show you how to text message, use iTunes, or start a group on Facebook. In exchange, offer to share the years of knowledge you have about your industry or company.
